Watch out Spielberg, there’s a new director in town. The owner of the delicious and warm Milky Way restaurant in Los Angeles is none other than Steven’s mother, Leah Adler. And she swears the name has nothing to do with close encounters.
Milky Way got its name because there is no meat on the menu, it is strictly a dairy restaurant…hence milky, get it? But don’t let the dairy fool you, there is more to this menu than you would expect.
Try some of the Tangy Guacamole with chips, or the Norwegian Smoked Salmon. They even serve up Spinach Seafood Fettuccine if you are feeling Italian or Oriental Stir Fry for an Asian feast. Be sure to try the crepes and blintzes, they are scrumptious and full of flavor. Save room for dessert cuz Mama is serving up Dreamy Cheesecake, Luscious Carrot Cake and my favorite, Devilishly Rich Chocolate Mousse Pie.
Don’t worry the atmosphere lives up to what you would expect from a proud mom. There are pictures of Spielberg throughout the restaurant, and even some of his superstar friends too.
Milky Way is located at 9108 W. Pico Blvd., Los Angeles, 90035. Contact at 310-859-0004. Operating hours are Sun-Thurs, 11:30am to 2:00pm, 5:30pm to 8:00pm, and Fri, 11:30am to 1:30pm.

This place is great for the food and the atmosphere. The Spielberg family is talented in more than film.

The food was ok, but the service wasn’t the best. It took a long time to get our food.

Food is wonderful and I hear they make their own cheese even. It’s delicious and the blintzes are worth going back for time and time again.
